Although born in Baltimore, Maryland Ben's family moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada when he was a young child.
Ben has been acting since age 18 and was added to the cast of the new summer ABC/Canwest series entitled Copper (Canadian title)."Canada's Canwest Broadcasting has announced the start of production on Copper, a one-hour, 13-episode police series that will be simulcast on Global and ABC Television later this season." The series is entitled Rookie Blue on ABC here in the U.S.
Rookie Blue is described as "a workplace drama about five young rookie cops just out of the police academy". The series has an all-Canadian cast that includes Vancouver's Missy Peregrym (Reaper, Heroes) and Gregory Smith (Everwood). Peregrym's character, Andy McNally, is described as "the soul of the close-knit group of five rookie officers". Smith will play another cop, Dov Epstein. Epstein is the "thrill-seeker" among the cops and aspires to emulate his heroes, Starsky & Hutch
Among the other members of the cast of Rookie Blue are Enuka Okuma (24), Travis Milne (My Green House), Charlotte Sullivan (M.V.P.), Ben Bass (Would Be Kings), Eric Johnson (Smallville), Matt Gordon (Rent-a-Goalie), Noam Jenkins (Flashpoint), Melanie Nicholls King (Law & Order: Special Victims Unit) and Aidan Devine (M.V.P)"
Air date is Thursday June 24th on ABC.

Ben Bass landed his first television gig on the hit ‘80s series 21 Jump Street and has since starred in an exceptionally wide range of television, theatre and film hits.
He starred in the critically acclaimed Would Be Kings and The Eleventh Hour (each garnering him Canadian television Gemini nominations for Best Actor), in addition to appearances on Law & Order, Flashpoint, Monk, Da Vinci’s Inquest, Queer as Folk, Dead Like Me, The Love Crimes of Gillian Guess, Beggars & Choosers and The Chris Isaak Show, among many others. Most recently he had a lead role in the pilot Clean, written by Adam Pettle.
On stage Bass has performed in theatres and festivals across the country, including The Stratford Festival and Charlottetown Festival. He has acted in both classic and contemporary productions such as Othello, Hamlet, Comedyof Errors and The Miracle Worker. His portrayal of Tim in the Vancouver Arts Club Theatre’s production of Angry Housewives earned him a Jessie Richardson Theatre Award nomination for Outstanding Performance.
Bass received his training at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art in England, and has studied with acclaimed director and acting coach Larry Moss.
